That's right Mama, flea market season kicks off today!
Pretty sure this will be me schlepping through the field-turned-parking-lot back to my car today. Maybe three or four times. Depending on how many armloads I score. Don't you just love it? You don't bring a list. You don't know what you'll see. You don't know what you'll come home with. You don't just delight in the kill, it's the thrill of the hunt.
You stand in the same spot for 5 minutes wondering if you should buy that old piece of junk and what you will tell your husband when he asks the dreaded question, "What are you doing to do with that?" Your answer is usually, "I don't know, but I love it."
You have no need for that giant moose head, but it sure is fun to stumble upon it.
You leave with a layer of gravel dust on all exposed surfaces of your body. You can taste it when you lick your lips. That's the taste of victory my friends. Of good ol',down and dirty, treasure hunting, flea market victory.
I'll meet you at the cheese curd stand.

Wowie Ga-Zowie
Holy sweet website goodess. I think the folks at Spool72 sneak into my brain at night when I'm sleeping and confiscate all of my hopes and dreams and turn them into a collection of the most delicious items available for purchase.
Be still my online shopping loving heart. xoxo

Sweetness
(whisper)
Happy Quiet Saturday Mornin' to ya.
I had two little brownies for breakfast.
When I say little it means little, and actually they were the size of one normal brownie so when I say two it is actually one. It's a little way I trick myself into thinking I'm being extravagant. TWO brownies? So indulgent.
Just wait a sec, I topped them (it) with a pile of berries. Which was a little way I trick myself into thinking I was being sensible. All those ANTIOXIDANTS? So good for me.
So my score is even for the day.
And that was one delicious breakfast.

Fab Foto Friday: You're Invited
I having one of those "hostess parties" tonight at my house.
You know, the ones you never want to go to but do. It's usually some form of guilt that propels you to these parties, but sometimes it's just an overwhelming need to get out of the house.
You know, the parties you go to where a lady is pushing an overpriced product that you aren't even interested in. Then suddenly (two glasses of wine) you are convined that you want and need one of each item.
Yep one of those.
Wanna come?

It's a Sign.
My recent antique store snag. First saw it there 9 months ago and looked at it for 10 minutes but didn't buy it. I was strolling through the joint again recently while procrastinating (what?) and found it hanging in the same spot. Thought I better go for it. Picked it up for six bucks. Added the ribbon. Hung it outside our bedroom doors. It's the first thing I see every morning. Can't go wrong. I mean really.

Love It. Want It. Wish I Woulda' Thought of It.
Oh for real, people, this fake phone book booster seat is cleverest-est-est thing I've seen all day! Now that those big fat phone books are sleeping with the dinosaurs, what are kids supposed to sit on when they go to Grandma's house? Honestly, I thought it was just my family that pulled out the ol' yellow pages when kids came to dinner. Love it. Want it. Wish I woulda' thought of it.
Also love the website I found it on, House 8810. I go there on a bi-weekly basis and fill up my shopping cart and then leave without buying anything. One of these days I'll make my purchase...

One Step Forward, One Step Back, and Then One Step Forward Again
I took a break from knitting yesterday. Not because I'm tired of it, but because I don't want to become tired of it. It's kind of fun to just foof around for the day. Plenty to do. Plenty.
Two days after Miss Freckles started Kindergarten I decided it was time to put my Etsy pants on. I knew that if I didn't, I would spend my days cleaning, doing laundry, and rearranging the furniture. And I'd probably spend my evenings crying! WAAAAAAH.
So on my day off yesterday, what's the first thing you think I did? Well I rearranged the furniture of course! And then I cleaned, and then I did laundry, and then I cried. No just kidding, I didn't cry. But I would've if I had to wake up this morning just to repeat the clean, laundry, rearrange process.
Today I'm knitting from my newly postitioned chair. There's a little spring in my stitch after evaluating the situation, and realizing how happy I am to be fillling orders for the most lovely customers in the world.

Spring it On!
What a glorious weekend to get out and get things cleaned up! Bending down to pick up sticks and yank out weeds, getting those arms moving again as I rake-rake-rake out the gardens and sweep-sweep-sweep off the patio. It's been a loooong winter just sitting and knitting, and my body sure is happy to get moving again.
Little Munchkin whoops me when we play tag, but I come out on top when we play hide and seek.
And what have we here? Tulips poppin'!
As you can see, my rubber boot fantasy did not become a reality, SOLD OUT {frown}, but can't complain about the houndstooth {grin}. Rubber boots are serious business around here. I'm on my third pair in a year and a half. They keep getting holes in them. That's right! Because I wear them for real-live working. And of course a little bit of playing too.Little Munchkin whoops me when we play tag, but I come out on top when we play hide and seek.

Honestly
Mom, if an old lady were wearing those slippers, she would look like an old lady.
I mean, I'm not trying to hurt an old lady's feelings, but your slippers are ugly.
Thank you Sophie, why don't you tell me how you really feel.
Well I think your slippers are hideous. I mean, I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings, but those slippers... not good.

We're still working on sometimes keeping our opinions to ourselves.
But ya know what? She's was right totally right.

FabFotoFriday: April Fool
Let's not take ourselves too seriously, people, right? Do you ever catch yourself doing that- taking yourself too seriously? I do, and then I feel so silly.
"People do not wish to appear foolish; to avoid the appearance of foolishness, they are willing to remain actually fools."
-Alice Walker
Love it!
