Fab Foto Friday: Girlfriends

Mama's headed out this evening to celebrate with some girlfriends. A collection of crazy-women ranging in age from 29 to 72. The 72 year old is sort of our unofficial fearless leader. When she speaks, we listen. She's raised five daughters, lost one son, and been married to the same man for 40 plus. She's worked in health care, she volunteers, she prays, she drinks Corona, and you can usually find her shopping at a thrift store or garage sale-ing. We ask her how she has survived motherhood, marriage, and life. We ask her how she keeps her spirit so young. She gives us one answer: Girlfriends
Cheers to girlfriends who make your cheeks hurt from smiling, your gut hurt from laughing, your voice hoarse from gabbing. Cheers to girlfriends who recharge your battery and make you proud of who you are.

Get out your horn and toot it.

Exploring the world of self-promotion. Trying to train my brain to be comfortable with saying "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!"
Right now my horn sounds like a lame plastic kazoo with a hole in it, so I have lots of work to do.

English Countryside

I have recently taken a fancy to all things Brit. This Etsy Storque feature just made my love stronger. Cheerio.

The sweet, sweet Red Otter has chosen to feature my latest on her gorgeous, delightful blog.

I really should tell her...

Oh Sweet Sophie.

Someday I'm going to have to tell her that it's Alice in Wonderland, not Allison Wonderland. I'm going to have to break the news to her that we say at least, not ackleast. It's called a cupboard not a covered. And Honey, the story doesn't begin with Once upolla time.
She typically conducts business as if she is a grown-up. My heart fills up when she says these things because it reminds me how sweet and innocent she still is. And I don't correct her because I want her to stay that way. Forever.
